A woman called 911 just after 4am Friday to say her husband had shot a man breaking through the back door.  "The suspect fled the house; he's bleeding pretty good," Sgt. Doug Depoma told WBAP.  "He ran off into a wooded area."

Police officers with dogs followed a trail of blood from the house, but were initially unable to locate the suspect.  About three hours later, he was found near a creek just west of the home he's accused of burglarizing.

The un-named burglary suspect was bleeding from the head, but was walking as he was led by police to a waiting ambulance.  The homeowners were not injured.
