Houston (WBAP/KLIF) – What’s being described as a ‘colossal’ explosion shook Northwest Houston around 4:15 this morning, damaging homes and businesses in the area.
The blast has been attributed to propylene gas at a valve factory called Watson Grinding & Manufacturing. At least one person was taken to a hospital.
We spoke to a witness who works at a nearby Buckeyes who said the blast blew their doors down and caused part of the ceiling to fall.
A reporter from ABC affiliate KTRK-TV says there is massive damage in neighborhoods near Highway 290 and Gessner Roads, where first responders were evacuating residents out of fear of a secondary explosion.
