UPDATE 1/16: Officer Naquirra Williams has been released from the hospital and recovering from surgery.
According to the Tarrant County Medical Examiners office, the suspect was identified as 32 year old Jose Chapa of San Anotnio.
Police say Chapa stole a patrol car shortly after the shooting, led police on a chase and crashed on US 287 south of Downtown Fort Worth. Police say he was pronounced dead on scene but his cause of death is pending.

Forest Hill, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – Forest Hill Police have identified the officer who was shot overnight during an incident at a 7-11. Oficer Naquirra Williams was shot in the forearm and taken to a local hospital by another officer, according to Forest Hill Police Chief Dan Dennis said. Dennis said she will need surgery, “but she is stable and in good spirits.”
An altercation was reported just before 3AM, resulted in the officer shot and her police cruiser stolen.
After a chase, the suspect crashed out on the 287 NB / I-30 ramp in Fort Worth.

Dallas – Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – There is still no word on the condition of the Forest Hill Police officer who was shot overnight during an incident that began outside a Forest Hill 7-ll.
The incident led to a suspect taking off in the officers squad car, then crashing about 10 minutes later in Fort Worth on the 287NB / I-30 ramp.
The suspect died of a gunshot wound; it’s still not clear who fired the shot.
Meantime, Forest Hill and Fort Worth Police handled the initial chain of events, after with the Texas Rangers took over.

Dallas – Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – A Forest Hill police officer was shot overnight, according to Fort Worth police said.
It happened sometime before 3 a.m. on the 6500 block of Forest Hill Drive near a 7-Eleven and Shell gas station, where shots were fire and a suspect took off in the officer’s police cruiser.
The officer was transported to a JPS Hospital by another Forest Hill officer, sources told WFAA.
Their condition is still unknown at this time..

Dallas – Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – Forest Hill and Fort Worth Police departments are busy with a shooting which left a Forest Hill police officer shot and wounded and suspect who reportedly stole her police cruiser dead after a crash in Fort Worth.
The officer was transported to JPS Hospital by a fellow officer; no word on his condition.
An incident at a Forest Hill 7-11 reportedly touched of the chain of events.
