Dallas Police Chief Takes the Airwaves to Encourage Crime Reduction

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The Dallas Police Chief is taking her newly released crime reduction plan to the airwaves in an effort to reach communities affected by an increase in violent crime.

Chief Renee Hall said Tuesday that her hope is to impact kids and young teens who may be listening.

“To make sure they understand crime is not the answer,” said Chief Hall. “There are services and we as a city are wrapping our arms around that. But we want to keep our young people as far away from crime as we possibly can.”

The Chief said she’s doing a series of radio interviews discussing specifics of her plan to reduce crime and to educate about techniques the department’s using.

“We want to let them know about the different ways they can help,” Chief Hall said.

The Chief encouraged residents to join programs like ‘Volunteers in Patrol’ and download apps like I-Watch to report suspicious activity.
