DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – In the wake of recent events in the Middle East and Governor Greg Abbott’s warning about Texas seeing possibly thousands of cyberattacks on state agencies from Iran, local governments in North Texas are closely monitoring and sharing intelligence information with local, state and federal partners to ensure the safety and security of the residents of Dallas.
“There are no specific or credible threats to Dallas,” read a statement released by the Dallas Police Department. “If the department receives a credible threat through intelligence information, we will respond with additional resources as necessary.”
According to local leaders, it’s always encouraged that residents be vigilant throughout their daily routine.
Earlier this week Governor Abbott met with the state’s the Domestic Terrorism Task Force for a roundtable discussion at the Texas State Capitol. The task force analyzed prevention strategies against domestic terrorism in the form of cyber attacks, and discussed the importance of good cyber hygiene in both the public and private sector.
