East Texas Murder Suspect Released

GREENVILLE (WBAP/KLIF) – The Hunt County Sheriff’s Department is releasing from custody the suspect arrested in connection with the October 27th deadly shooting at a homecoming party for Texas A&M University.

In a written statement Sheriff Randy Meeks says due to the lack of cooperation from witnesses and evidence discovered during their investigation he is requesting the district attorney’s office take no action against Brandon Gonzales.

Meeks says the investigation into the shooting at The Party Venue on U.S. Highway 380 continues and he wants anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.

Kevin Berry Jr. of Dallas and Byron Craven Jr. of Arlington, both 23 were killed during the shooting. Witnesses say there were more than 700 people in the venue when the shooting took place.
