(WBAP/KLIF) – A prosecutor for the Dallas County District Attorney’s office is mourning the loss of her 10-year-old daughter.
According to Fairview Police, Shawnkeedra Martin, her husband, and other child were taken to the hospital Monday after the car they were riding in hit the back of an 18-wheeler stopped in heavy rain near HWY 75 and TX-121. Her 10-year-old daughter died at the scene. Corporal Nick Lovren says the accident caused a chain reaction of crashes.
“The driver did not see that the truck driver had stopped and he hit the back end of the trailer,” said Lovren.
No one else was seriously hurt.
The Dallas County District Attorney’s Office released the statement below:
“We are deeply saddened today following the tragic car accident involving one of our prosecutors, her husband (a DA investigator), and their family on Labor Day. We will continue to lift them up in prayer and ask that the public do the same. However, due to the nature of the circumstances, the family asks that the public give them the utmost privacy as they begin their journey of healing.”
