Dallas – (WBAP/KLIF) – Temperatures in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex are expected to soar to 105 degrees in the coming week, and that figure does not include the “heat index”, or misery factor generated by the addition of varying humidity levels.
Meterologists with the National Weather Service warn we are likely to experience the hottest temperatures this week that we’ve seen so far this year.
Forecaster Lamont Bain at the NWS Fort Worth office reminds us not to leave children or pets in vehicles even for a few minutes; heat gets deadly very quickly in heat to these degrees.
Bain also reminding us outdoor pets and livestock need water replenishment much more quickly than usual, with water evaporating in surprising time.
