Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings is enthusiastic about a new project proposed for the Cedars section of the city along the Trinity River.
A zoning request has been filed to develop land which would be home of the Texas Odyssey — a giant observation wheel that would be over twice as tall as the Texas Star Ferris Wheel at Fair Park. The Texas Odyssey would stand more than 500 feet high; the Texas Star is 212 feet high.

The Texas Odyssey would feature enclosed capsules for up to 28 riders each who would by treated to what’s being decribed as a “38-minute multimedia, multi-sensory voyage.”
Other attractions are planned for the area surrounding the planned project.
Texas Odyssey Project Manager David Taggart filed the zoning request on Friday. He told WFAA-TV that he hopes to break ground by summer 2019.
Mayor Rawlings said it would be an “amazing addition to Southern Dallas.”
