DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – As the victims of Hurricane Harvey start the process of rebuilding their lives once the storm has passed, The Salvation Army wants citizens to know there is an easy way to help them.
The organization’s Alvin Migues said they’re currently accepting cash donations.
He said most people think of donating clothing or household items first, which can be a challenge during a disaster.
“Then you have to spend manpower to deal with sorting and other things as they come into the warehouses instead of having those folks out in the field doing the work. So, we always asked people to send a cash donation instead,” he said.
Migues said anyone who wishes to donate can do so by phone or online. The number is 1 (800) SAL-ARMY (725-2769).
You can also donate on the organizations website, at www.disaster.salvationarmyusa.org.
