Arlington (WBAP/KLIF News) – A power outage shut down Tarrant County College’s Southeast Campus Wednesday. Police blocked entrances to the campus in South Arlington, turning students away as they drove up.
“It’s kind of a like a movie,” one student said. “You don’t see this every day.”
The storms did not damage buildings on campus, but some trees were knocked down. Tarrant County College says the power outage would cancel classes until further notice.
Near the campus, some students had gathered outside a convenience store. The store’s power had also been knocked out, along with traffic lights in the same area.
“Power is out, trees down, roads blocked, the lights are keeping traffic backed up,” another student says. “It turned my day upside. I was like, ‘Oh, man,’ but it just put a damper on my schedule.”
