DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The Dallas Police Department is preparing a job fair in part to help improve the 911 issue the city has been dealing with.
It is being called a one-stop police communications job fair to be held this coming Friday and Saturday.
The police department has not had such a fair since 2012 but the last fair resulted in 420 applications and 45 new 911 call takers.
Over the weekend, the City of Dallas reported no spikes in calls.
The service level was about 75 percent on Saturday because of an incident on a freeway.
Sunday’s service level was 85 percent because of multiple shootings.
The city hopes to add more call takers to the 911 system.
