DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The Dallas City Council gave the thumbs up Wednesday for eventual demotion of a once-thriving North Dallas mall.
Valley View Center has sat with mostly empty parking lots in the past few years.
The city approved a Tax Increment Financing plan allowing the developer to start demolition on Valley View Center by the end of the year. The demolition could take about six months once the process is started.
After demolition, new retail and restaurants are planned for what will be called Dallas Midtown to sit East of the Galleria and stretch to Preston Road North of LBJ Freeway.
The projected cost is $290-million.
